Marvin G Kelly, Lead Technical Architect, BAI Communications Limited
Short Bio: Marvin Kelly is a chartered engineer (CEng) and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET). He completed his PhD studies at Loughborough University, UK where he studied Signal propagation inside buildings at mobile network frequencies. He has since worked with numerous network design companies in the areas of 5G, 4G, Network densification, neutral host networks, and Smart city networks. Dr Kelly has worked at a senior level with major mobile network operators and network optimization consultancy services in all areas of the mobile radio access network. He has experience in Self Optimizing Networks (SON) optimization, Geo-location Optimisation, RF Planning, RF Optimisation, and Transmission Planning for 2G, 3G/HSPA, WiMAX, LTE and 5G networks. A few of these companies include Telefonica UK, Orange/EE UK, Digicel Jamaica, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, Amdocs/Actix, Cellwize and Dense Air. In a few of these roles, he has been the technical expert/consultant in the optimization (maintaining and improving customer experience) of numerous mobile networks worldwide (UK, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, India, Japan, Chile, and Taiwan). He currently works for BAI Communications as the Lead Technical Architect, providing designs for 5G innovations and Smart City networks.
Dave D Muir, Academic Faculty, Warsash School of Maritime Engineering, Solent University, UK
Short Bio: Dave D Muir, PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and MSc in Automation and Control from Newcastle University UK. Previous work at Cable and Wireless (Flow) Jamaica External Planning and Engineering and University of Technology, Jamaica, over twenty years combined. Research and Knowledge Exchange in STEM Robotics, Automation, IOT and Industry 4.0. 5G is the backbone enabling technology for Industry 4.0 vertical applications with Matlab and Labview for modeling and simulation in growing application research. Industry Training continues to be an integral part of his academic impact as he served as a Worldskills Expert for Mobile Robotics in Kazan Russia 2019. Dave has also served as a Principal Lecturer at the Caribbean Maritime University with joint faculty engagements in Engineering and Applied Technology and training for Chief Engineers in the Faculty of Marine and Nautical Studies for over five years. Dr Muir is presently Marine Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty at Solent University, UK specializing in training Electro Technical Officers for advanced communications, control and power engineering applications.
